Meet The Artists
Ray LaRanger studied at the side of two old masters in a prestigious Manhattan studio in the ’70s and the early ’80s. At that time, he was engaged in projects such as; fabricating and installing four windows for the National Cathedral in Washington DC, restoring contemporary works of Tiffany and LaFarge in the Metropolitan Museum of NY and restoring medieval glass for the Cloisters Museum in New York City. Ray operated his studio in Manhattan before moving to Carmel, NY, in 1984. He maintains the highest level of craftsmanship in all the commissions, restorations, and repairs the studio completes.
Katharyn LaRanger studied at the Corcoran Museum School in ‘69, graduated with a BFA from The University of Minnesota in ‘72, and moved to NYC to study etching and painting before joining a top Fabric design studio Manhattan in the mid-’70s. *Designed fabrics products and packaging for companies such as Henry Glass, Estee Lauder, Cannon, and Avon. *Italian fashion fabrics and other international fabric companies.
In the mid-’80s, she turned all her attention to stained glass design and painting. She designs custom pieces and traditional work for the studio, including new designs for both religious and residential commissions and restoration of many panels, including restoration painting using traditional stained glass techniques.
